Mom and I also spent 2 days in Al Ain during her visit. So different then Dubai! Al Ain is only came to the i called the green city because of all the Oasis's there. Al Ain is in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, about one hour away. It is where all the families lived before the oil, they only came to the Island during pearl season. It is where many of the Shaikhs families lived. I posted a blog back in October when Barry and I made our first trip to Al Ain. Many pictures of Al Ain and Jebel Hafeet are in that blog. Mom and I went to many of the same places and then several more. The drive up to the top of Jebel Hafeet was once again memorable.
At the base of Jebel Hafeet are the only natural Hot Springs here in Abu Dhabi. They are called Green Muzzaberrah, and are beautiful. Here is a picture of the heart of the source.
I had to take a picture of my feet all warm and toasty after soaking them in the Hot Springs!
The water is channeled through man made "creeks" throughout the park. Families come and picnic at the park and enjoy time dipping their feet into the springs. The bottom was slippery with algae and the water was hot! I couldn't keep my feet in for long and they were pink quick!
We stayed at the Al Ain Rotana, the view from our room.
We enjoyed some pool time on day two!
Local dresses in the shop windows in the local souk.
You can have your tent made while you are upstairs getting your teeth cleaned!
No visit to Al Ain is complete without a trip to the camel market. It was quite the experience.
Mom and I at the Palace Museum.
We also went to the Hili Archaeological Park, it was one of the prettiest parks
I have been to in this Country.
